Remember a couple weeks ago when I introduced all of you to the joys and deliciousness of Isopure Aminos BCAA’s Powder? Remember when I told you that the cherry limeade flavor this really tasty muscle recovery BCAA powder tasted absolutely fantastic? Well, I’ve been using the stuff nonstop and it has not disappointed. My muscles are recovering from all of these October races, which I am calling “training runs” as we lead up to NYC so smoothly. So I wanted to be able to incorporate this magic powder into a snack of some kind. The easy thing to do would be to make a smoothie with this, and I mean you can’t go wrong with that idea! But I wanted to get a little creative. So I took a stab at making “Sharpie’s Cherry Limeade Protein Cookies” utilizing the Isopure Aminos BCAA’s powder formula! It’s like I’m on The Food Network…without the professional set or cookware line.
The recipe is actually pretty simple.
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
- 1/2 Cup of Butter
- 1 Egg
- 1 1/2 Cups of All Purpose Flour
- 1/4 Teaspoon of salt
- 3/4 Cups of Sugar
- 3/4 Cup of chopped maraschino cherries
- 1 1/2 Teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon of nutmeg
- The zest of one lime
- Two scoops of Isopure Aminos Cherry Limeade BCAA powder
- 1/4 Cup of milkGo ahead and cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg and mix well. Then add the rest of the ingredients. I knew there was a reason someone invited the KitchenAid mixer.
On a greased cookie sheet, drop a tablespoon sized “cookie” onto the sheet. Sprinkle the lime zest on top of the cookies. Let them cook for 10-12 minutes. And enjoy.
The finished product. These taste like a buttery cherry limeade…and oddly…it isn’t gross at all. IT IS DELICIOUS! Sweet and savory all at the same time, and what a fun way to get that muscle recovery protein in, right?
We all know I love snacks, and this is a fun way to reward myself after a hard workout. COOKIES haha. I can tell that the Isopure Aminos formula is going to be a staple in my workout routine for a long time…and these cookies for sure. The best way to fuel #BehindTheMuscle is sometimes through your sweet tooth.
