Rock ‘N’ Roll San Diego 5K

If you didn’t get the chance to attend any part of the Rock ‘N’ Roll San Diego weekend, man you missed out for sure! The #WeRunSocial crew was in full force and we took no prisoners. This weekend was all about fun, friends, selfies, and love. It was a fantastic weekend. So let’s dive right into the first race of the weekend, the 5K.

This is the first time there has been a 5K hosted by RNR in San Diego. And of course, I have to run ALL the races…so this was perfect. I mean I was there anyway, right? Pavey and I got up, grabbed a cab, and headed up the street to Balboa Park which is where the start line was. We hung out and met ALL the runners. It was so great to see some people I haven’t seen in a while, and meet people in person who I have been interacting with for months.

We socialized. We strategized. We took all the photos. Then we did the thing we do best, we ran! I ran with my boo Dani and new found friends Sarah (@MomOnEmpty) and Rob. Dani and I always say we are going to run 5Ks really easy and take our time. We attempted this in Boston…turns out we are just built for speed. Oops. We went out there and just had a blast. We laughed and enjoyed the run. There were a few hills, but nothing that would destroy you. If anything it was a great couple hill exercises.

This run was about getting the legs warm and prepare for the race the next day. Dani, Sarah, and I were set to do the marathon. Everyone else was all set to rock the half. As we approached the finish line, I saw the #WeRunSocial crew on the left hand side and Michael caught this awesome photo.

All in all, I really enjoyed myself. This was a fun race. It was just challenging enough. Of course it’s always fun to run with friends. Friends make everything better. I hope they continue to do this race it was a blast.

Did I mention I love the surfborts????

With so many smiling faces at the race, how can you not want to come party with us? I knew that if the 5K was this awesome, than the marathon would be a blast!!! Did you participate in the 5K? How did you do?
