Have you ever noticed that when you get all dressed up and fancy you feel amazing? Don’t you enjoy laying out just the right outfit for the right occasion, or making a grand entrance knowing that you look phenomenal? Well, I sure do. That’s part of my nickname after all…Sharp…as is sharp dresser. To me, I love a good outfit. I love how it makes me feel. I enjoy fashion, colors, patterns, textures, and seeing how ideas translate into art or design. This is one reason why I love INKnBURN so much.
Ever since I started running, I have always said I wanted to stand out. Let’s be real honest, men don’t have a ton of choices when it comes to creative/artistic designs for high quality work out gear. We tend to get solids, strips, and maybe a fun pattern tossed in there. I see this trend changing however and that is refreshing. I love color. I like to use my race gear to show off my personality. How I feel that day. The PRO Compression #TwoPairDontCare movement (which is mis-matching your socks on purpose) is a ton of fun because it allows me to one buy all the socks and two it lets me be whimsical and play around with my creativity. I want to make a statement. I want to be myself at all times. Telling stories through design is one thing that’s important to me. You generally won’t see me in anything plain. Not that there is anything wrong with solids, I just personally like some flair.
Fashion & fitness can absolutely coexist. For me, it’s about story telling. It’s about personality. It’s about being true to who I am. I am not shy when it comes to the use of color. Why do you think I am out there smiling when I run. I smile because I am doing something I love, while wearing clothes that inspire me and make me feel awesome. They perform well, they don’t chafe, and breathe amazingly. So I don’t have to sacrifice performance for style. What do you like to wear when you are working out? Do you find that it helps keep you motivated?
